Mr. Chris Goes to Cleveland – Pt VI: And the Best Night Ever

So this is one of those posts where you wrote down a brilliant idea in the moment with absolutely no context or notes and then went back a month later and had no idea why you wrote it. Well, that’s not entirely true. The title was something my friends’ son Will said upon a full day of awesomeness, I just don’t remember what sparked the actual comment from him anymore.

It may have had something to do with extra time on the DS, or playing with snowballs and a big snow fort in the backyard, or could have involved suction-cup bow and arrows or air hockey or slumber parties or…honestly I don’t remember, but I can assure you it was awesome!

Will and Shadow in the Snow

My friend’s son is quite a character, and I think takes after both of his parents, albeit in different ways. He has his dad’s love for technology and gadgets and his mom’s energy and passion. Here’s a picture of some of our backyard fun during the snowier part of the visit. Although Ryan (Will’s dad) and I tried to get him interested in building a snow fort, it seemed he was content to just run around with a big pile of snow and a small cache of snowballs. And other than the ankle biting monster (Shadow), I think it was a success.

So the moral of this story is to be sure and write down whatever it is that inspired you to write something down, because by the time you go to write about it, it may be completely gone! Well, here’s to better memory in the new year.

Stay tuned for more exciting posts from the continuing sage of my Cleveland Adventures in Pt. VII: Thank You and Praise Mama (You Have to Play).

Until next time…let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…
