Mr. Chris Goes to Cleveland – Pt III: Dog Dayz

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs my adventures continued in the suburbs of Cleveland, I had some extra time to spend with my friends furry companion Shadow (pictured here). Let’s see, how to best describe this rambunctious canine? Lots of teeth and claws and barking–I think that about sums it up.

But in fairness, he is a puppy still, and I’m sure being a puppy cooped up in the suburbs is hard enough as it is. Then add three cats, a kid and the wintertime, and it’s enough to drive any species crazy. But once you peel back the snippy dog veneer he’s quite a lover, and also doubles as a rather warm tummy cushion to boot.

In his spare time he loves to chase snow balls and play with anything that goes “squeak.” Unless of course you take that squeaky toy and trap it inside of a small rubber bouncy ball with holes so that the squeaker inside cannot be gotten except by acrobatic feats of astounding tongue licking prowess–in which case these toys are an infernal nightmare for puppies of all ages. I predict he will grow up without too many scars, however, since he has a good home and lots of attention. I also suspect he may have a bright future ahead of him as a super sleuth mut, following in a long and venerable tradition of crime fighting canines.

The midwest adventures continue in Pt IV: Les Miserables, so don’t touch that dial.

Until next time…squeak squeak squeak!
